Teaching
TA for 9.12 Experimental Molecular Neurobiology 2019
I served as a TA in this undergraduate lab course where students acquired molecular skills such as PCR, IHC, ELISAs with an application to neuroscience. Besides hands-on demonstrations and guidance in the lab, a large part of the class also involved mentoring students in writing up their results in weekly lab reports & a final academic paper encompassing the semester’s experimental results. Through this all, I particularly enjoyed emphasizing principled scientific thinking and inference while actively utilizing our understanding of the perks and limitations of one’s tools of inquiry.
TA for 9.013 Molecular & Cellular Neuroscience II 2017
MCN II is a graduate-level seminar-style neuroscience class. My TA experience here involved providing feedback and guidance in weekly paper critiques as well as coaching in writing the draft of a mock R01-style proposal in the realm of molecular and cellular neuroscience.
